I was a son for 65 years and now a Father for 33+ years. Both being a Son and a Father now enable me to value it all more than ever before.
The single biggest thought now is just how much Family and Home mean, then and now. Family and Friends have passed and/or moved on .. but one's home and immediate family is with you until life has ended. Fortunately, we had the time and opportunity to share all of our blessings over the years. Paulina and I have over recent years, expanded our circle to include lots of new places and faces, and it's all been truly wonderful. However, we (like most) enjoy our family and home times the most.
We're dining out for Father's Day, watch for Father's Day .. "Dolce Vitae"

Be taking the Desert Highway, seeing the sights and dining out! Life is good again, we've settled into our Summer routine, which simply means enjoying our fabulous summer. Temps now about 100, but the Snowbirds are leaving until November. So, we enjoy the slow days with 30% of Tucson gone and everything's in bloom. Since we don't have anything really new to show and tell, I've added 3 new Blogs. This includes:
The only definite plan is to do our timeshare in Scottsdale for some fun. However, we are also thinking Vegas and Camp De Lorenzo.
Our world is really "Endless Summer" and we enjoy it all, every day. Bad news, I'm slowing down to enjoy Summer. Good news, you can still enjoy our new photo parades and recipe updates.
We've decided to stay in our beloved indefinitely, we're enjoying it all simply too much. And, it's now until the end of days!
Like me, you can view "On This Day" for memories. However, I've already got them nestled away on our website. And, visitors can use the "search" to find almost anything, names, places, events, etc. So, I won't be sharing any more .. except for sending via text to others.
Time now for doing, yesterday's gone and tomorrow isn't promised. Live, laugh and love until it's over! The Best of Times
We were gone for 10 months, last summer. We had had a very special time with family at Camp De Lorenzo (our Summer Place on Schroon River, Warrensberg, NY) See memories in our photo parade. You can also click on the album name "Family Times at Camp De Lorenzo for the photos.
Paulina, I, and Lucky are exploring our gardens and enjoying nature. Checkout our Flower Power in the photo parade. This year, we're enjoying home and times in Tucson. Son John and I had planned to travel to Bellingham, WA for another family time with my mothers' side of the family. However, this has been cancelled. Hopefully there will be other times. I'll be living a quiet life from May thru the end of Summer. So, my next post will be comprehensive and include any special events, i.e. bbq's, etc.during the quiet months. The Social Side of Life
Time to enjoy some of the fun side of life. April includes some fun at the U of A, attending a presentation and discussion about the Decameron. The Decameron is a collection of bawdy stories, written at the time of the Black Plague. It became a major issue for the religious movements for quite some time. Son John, Stan Duff and I attended the presentation. Later, son John and I stopped for a quick burger before heading home.
April is also when the Skyliner magazine is providing a community dinner at our home. This is something new for our community and for us. Skyliner hosted our party, together with their sponsors, which included Bob's BBQ (Brisket and Pulled Pork) and surprise gifts from the advertisers. I, and our neighbors, wonderful time. Special thanks to Leah and Paulina for providing me with some of the photos from yesterday. Checkout my photo parade below .. "Quiet Little Dinner for 35" Catch some of our adventures. Work Done and Plans Completed
Busy since we returned with our home and business .. work and fun.
Paulina, son John and I getting all of our home maintenance duties! Although we're still getting some repairs and Paulina's new Veggie Garden completed, we're now ready for our Summer. Lots of time and effort also spent mainly on completing our "real estate resale (flip), taking over the QuickBooks, completing work related to our home network and Property Management System Feasibility Study. Reviewed my remote access/portable HD resources, i.e., home and our summer place. Conclusion, existing facilities (using Screens App for remote access and continued use of MacBook Air notebook and "Big Boy" portable hard drive) still our best option for our road trips and extended get away trips. While there are some additional pros related to Plex, local cloud, etc., there are NO additional benefits for us. QuickBooks Upgraded our old software, and now setup for both our Family Trust and DLG Business Accounting. Doing our "books" to reduce bookkeeping expenses, improve our accounting and use as basis for our Property Management. Sincere appreciation to our "bookkeepers" for having done all the work to setup and maintain our books over the past, many years. We imported the books, making our setup and parallel easy. Now all we need do are the simple tasks of importing our income and expense info from our banks and bond management companies. This precludes any real manual effort (except for comparing our online statements to verify the input function. Awaiting month end to import/reconcile our income and expense information in May. Also, reviewed our desktop and online editions. Conclusion, the desktop is preferred for functionality, cost and security. Since QuickBooks already accommodates all of our Property Management needs, we have NO additional need for a separate standalone application. Property Management Software Feasibility Study Compared and evaluated development of commercial software package but the cost/benefit showed development and operating expensive NOT justified. Also concluded 2 simple, low cost options for standalone application available, i.e., FileMaker and AirTable. Setup my prototypes for both. Same Old, Same Old Life continues, we're now in "vacation mode", i.e., relaxing at home, dining and enjoying our Endless Summer. I don't expect any new updates to our website until our holiday/family events, except for some occasional photo parades which I routinely add to my YouTube Playlist.. Daily life continues but not much new to show and tell. My next update will be our ... Holidays. As always, I maintain a daily hobby of my FaceBook postings (old memories and interests). Have a great summer, thank for viewing.
The temps are now in the 80's and 90's, and the flowers are blooming. Work continues on our Spring Cleanup, trees and lawns being spruced up.
Today we enjoy a traditional home celebration for Easter. Paulina's been getting everything setup for a few days, and cooked a roast turkey and lamb .. with all the fixings. Besides church, and getting dinner ready, we enjoyed some time out. Beautiful weather and fun sights, i.e., hot air ballon, the wildlife and the smell of the flower blossoms wafting thru the air. We'll also be celebrating Paulina's birthday on Wednesday, dining out. Much of the month will include beginning to do our own "books", filing our taxes, relaxing with more BBQ and our Community Monthly Appreciation Event at the Skyline Country Club, and our special Dinner for the community at our home on April 28th. Next month, it's our Family Reunion in Bellingham, WA .. the countdown has begun. I'll be adding more photo parades for our fun stuff, and spending time in our "Outback"
Setting up for our 2nd Quarter Adventures ..
Life has evolved for us, home and business. during the past year we sold our larger real estate rental properties, and bought Camp De Lorenzo and a single family "Flip" Although our home is For Sale, we don't expect it to sell quickly. So, we're just going to enjoy what we have and worry about it all if and when it sells. Meanwhile, we're now working on our Spring Cleanup. We're celebrating the day we met again .. March 28, 1982 April is going to be busy for us, Easter Home Celebration (April 1st), Dining Out for Paulina's Birthday (April 4th) and a Special Event at our Home being hosted by The Skyliner Magazine on April 28th for our community. Click on the link to preview our home and video. Now through May, I'll be working on our Property Management System project. See more about it all in my FaceBook and web links below. Or, you can see lots more about our business activites at our online site! May 4th will be our 1 week Family Reunion in Bellingham, WA as well as Mothers Day and our Memorial Day Weekend. As usual, I'll be updating this page as time goes by. Lester: Now Showing
Our version of "This Old House" .. and, if you build it, they will come. About 50 people toured the property. Great job .. nice live video of our "little home on the prairie".
Fun day, Da Ladies had lots of interest, We Celebrate The Day We Met
We met on March 28, 1982. We moved in together almost immediately, and got married on December 29, 1983.
Lots of wonderful memories thru the years. Easter Times at Casa De Lorenzo
Enjoying our family holiday weekend, this is just the beginning. Tomorrow is our big day. Mama's roasting Turkey and Lamb with all the fixings. I'll be adding phoros from our celebration and fun in the sun. Checkout our photo parade, now in progress.
Always Thinking About Tomorrow
NEWS: Happy Days. Being away was nice, but it's really great being home after spending 10/13 months away .. Back again updating our 2018 YouTube and Websites
Although I enjoy viewing FaceBook, especially Family, friends and my feeds, I will be using our online sites for my updates I’ll be sharing some (few select) favorite posts on FaceBook but eliminating most of my recent interests, news, weather, happy meals, and Movies/TV shows and feeds which are readily available to all so as to eliminate redundancy. YouTube includes most of our photo slideshows and can be viewed chronologically or by Playlist category My website will continue to present our complete history, homes, lifestyle and adventures. This especially includes all the fun and blessings we’ve shared with family and friends. The Year of the Dog

Lots of fun for my Birthday Weekend .. and, the weather was great. We dined out on Saturday, then had an outing in Tucson at the Fourth Avenue Street Fair. Monday was "Family Time at Home".
Our home celebration included my traditional Italian favorites. Special thanks to everyone that contributed to my Fund Raiser .. God Bless
St Patricks Day Weekend was a fun time for us. We did some cooking during our time, so I included photos, live video and a tour of our home and gardens.
Checkout our photos of the St Patrick's Day Weekend Album We enjoy our home, especially all the amenities and viewing locations in and around our home. Hopefully, you'll enjoy seeing some of it too. We've been blessed with a full and beautiful life, with lots of family, friends and good times. It's been especially hectic over the past several years with our time and effort spent building our homes and life in Tucson, AZ and Warrensburg, NY. Age and health have really slowed us down, and we now appreciate the simple life. Son John and our companion Lucky hold the most for us. And so, we'll be happy to get back home, enjoy our "endless summer" and enjoy our Golden Years. Even thou we'll continue our cross-country adventures, we'll spend our time mostly at home and dining out with family and friends. November 7th marks 1 year since we arrived at Paulina's Place and, coincidentally, is the same date we'll be back on the road heading south to Myrtle Beach, SC and then on to our beloved home in Tucson, AZ It took a year, but we've setup our Camp and Park on Schroon River. Now, it's time to relax, simplify, slow down and enjoy our life even more. Time to look forward to what comes next, with fond memories of our Summer almost behind us! Checkout my fun photo parade, eh Our favorite times include lots of nature and simple times with family and friends. And, with Thanksgiving being my favorite holiday, we've anxiously awaited November and our special month. Besides our Road Trip, we'll be doing a 2 week vacation and celebrating the Thanksgiving Holiday with son John at the Beach. Our November Blog page will be used to collect and store our memories and to Thank God for all of our blessings. Watch for lots more updates and links to our photos, videos and other update pages. God Bless Us all .. Best wishes for your Happy Thanksgiving. Besides some fun in the sun and walks along the beach as well as celebrating our Thanksgiving celebration, I'll be reflecting on our past year. Since we'll have spent 10/13 months at Paulina's Place .. I'll be focusing on our memories of our Road Trips and life on Schroon River. Checkout a brief video below on some fun Fall memories .. and an intro video about our resort stay in Myrtle Beach, SC 2017, The Best of TimesDuring 2017, we began the year in Warrensburg, NY only returning to Tucson for 3 months in February for some respite from Winter. Then, we headed back to our place on Schroon River for Memorial Day thru the beginning of November. We were able to evolve our dreams for restoring the "rustic charm" at Paulina's Place and complete work on the structures as well as our Park and Riverfront. We were also fortunate in having our family and friends visit with us over our Fall times. Truly, it was beautiful and we enjoyed the weather. Now, we're excited about returning to our beloved home in Tucson by December in time for the Christmas Holidays. We'll be returning to Schroon River next year. We'll be staying at Sheraton's Broadway Plantation at Myrtle Beach, SC .. before heading back on the road to our beloved home in Tucson, AZ Son John joining us for our 2nd week of vacation, and our family Thanksgiving. Future Updates Limited to FaceBook and YouTubeI'll be ending most, if not all, of our regular website updates. This includes our website, and my FaceBook pages. It's time to slow down and simply enjoy life. The website showcases all of our exploits and adventures. It includes us, as well as our family and friends "sharing God's Blessings". Our future is now somewhat limited to the simple life including both homes as well as our Road Trips. Even thou we'll continue to enjoy the Good Life, there really isn't any need to update photos about our homes, travels or dining out on our website or FaceBook.. However, I will continue to take lots of photos and create lots more Photo Parades for memories sake. If you have an interest in "keeping up with us and our times", checkout either my FaceBook, PepBlast site and/or our YouTube site. FYI, I'm also into that Old Time Rock and Roll .. and I maintain 2 additional FaceBook sites for my interests, i.e. Rock and Roll Tribute and Doo Wop Buddies. All of my sites are open to the public, so you need not Friend or join for viewing. I enjoy using FaceBook as a daily journal in that it allows me to post current doings and interests, as well as to share my memories of the past. The Lucky1 PepBlast site provides all the original photos, as well as a simple slideshow format. Some viewers may prefer this to view/share any photos. You can either view the shows either by viewing our Playlists or in strict chronological order. Coming Home to TucsonWe returned to Tucson and our beloved home at the end of November, and it's now December 7th .. having been home for one week I prepared a special photo parade. We're really used to and love our Summer Living, and so happy to be out of the Winter again. Checkout some fun memories or our return. I created a new YouTube Playlist, which will be used for all of my ongoing photo updates. As most know, I won't be updating our website so viewers can continue to see our adventures on our video sites. Thanks for viewing 👨👩👦🏜️🐶🎟️
This is our last full month at Schroon River, and we're enjoying lots of time in and about our home and community. We kicked off the month with Sunday Brunch and the community Garage Sale. We're already looking forward to our remaining projects as well as celebrating Halloween and seeing some dear friends. See some favorites in our "photo parade" below. Seeing The DreamWe bought our property back in August '15 .. and it's only now that we're nearing the finish line. We began doing our work on Camp De Lorenzo in November '16, and we're just now completing our work. Last year, we began extensive work on our Barn/Garage .. including the addition of a new generator, new pond bridge and fixes to our Gazebo and lots of carpentry. This year, we added a new road to Lucky Lane, did lots of repairs and maintenance, clearing 13 trees, as well as painting our little village. Da Boys were also busy clearing lots and lots of trees and forest trails So much thanks to all of our community for helping us get it done .. right. Cheryl Hayes, Linda Marcella and Kathy Hill got us started with our purchase, then Todd Olden, Warren De Kleine, Bruce and Dan Randall, Becky Sauer, as well Eric Gall did the heavy lifting Watch for lots of updates throughout October.
We've enjoyed our first full season in the Adirondacks. We arrived on Memorial Day weekend, and we'll be leaving on November 7th for vacation and Thanksgiving with son John and Anh in Myrtle Beach, SC And now, our "Dream" has been more than we originally imagined. However, we've mainly been busy since we arrived with lots of repairs and landscaping. Work has been done on our Main house as well as lots of projects on our Park and grounds. Family is visiting with us on Schroon River for some fun in the Sun. We're excited to show our Camp as well as the extensive trails, ponds, streams and woods set in the mountains and our Riverfront. As is my habit, I enjoy taking lots of photos and video for memories sake. I've already prepared a "work in progress" to showcase our Fall Memories. I will be updating the initial show to includes lots more of our time together. Family time is our favorite past time. Besides time to catch up, we can share our blessings with our favorite people. Naturally, we'll be doing some local sight seeing. I'm especially looking forward to showing John some new adventures since his visit on Father's Day, i.e., The Sagamore, Adirondack Safari and Adirondack Extreme. These are all very close to us and less than 10 minutes from our bend in the river. Checkout my visit to the Sagamore .. I'll be updating this blog for more as time goes by We're looking forward to sharing Fall with our family, it's simply a beautiful time of year .. lots of fun foods and sights to see. Enjoying Every Day, Making Memories |
