The Good Life, and It's Only Taken 72 Years (lol)
It's taken a lifetime to achieve the family, home and means to enjoy it all.
As with everyone, life has had it's ups and downs. Most of our time, effort and money is spent trying to make it all happen. Frankly, with having undergone some very serious health problems, it's been hard to settle down and enjoy the "fruits of our labor". Perhaps, even more important, our goals evolved and have now enabled us to see that despite wealth and success, the simple life is really the best life. Now in our Golden Years, we've finally gotten to see the light.
Time goes by, and it just keeps getting better. Age and health have caused us to slow down, but we now really enjoy it all even more than ever. I have resolved my serious health problems, but I'm still plagued by dizziness and fatigue. My dizziness started back in '89. And, now it's become compounded by my growing fatigue. My doctors tell me all's well, and it's time to accept that age is catching up. So, we've adjusted. 🙁
We also now appreciate our homes even more, and Endless Summer. Even Mr Lucky has slowed down and seems to be loving it all, i.e. our home life and road trips. 🤓
Life is now all about enjoying nature, simple meals and quiet nights. Our days, both in Tucson and The Adirondacks, are filled with the "great outdoors". Sadly, our time for hosting and enjoying visitors is over. It's just too much now to handle. 😔
On occasion, we still enjoy some time out dining and seeing the sights. We also treasure time with our son John and Anh, but naturally their time is limited due to work and life. 😋
It's odd in that although our lifestyle has changed, we're seriously enjoying the time that God has blessed us with. Truly, it's been a wonderful life.
Life has now gotten really interesting, we've finally gotten into living in 2 different worlds. We've got the beauty of both Tucson and The Adirondacks in upstate NY. Another "Bucket List" item, which has finally been realized, is the opportunity to travel the USA.

August '17, and enjoying our summer. Life is peaceful and serene. Also, the weather is delightful. Our temps in the Adirondacks are just a bit warmer than Winter in Tucson.
Most days we're either busy with daily life, but we get time to enjoy it all.

I've been a member of FaceBook since 2010, and really enjoy seeing all the posts. More important, I use it to also post lots of personal interests, i.e., photos, philosophy, religion, food, music and especially sharing my past FaceBook memories.
Although very limited, I also enjoy seeing other people's personal updates. It allows me to keep up to date with their lives.

With age comes the realization of our life and dreams. Many of my dear family and friends have passed and many others have moved on with life. Most, if not all of us, enjoy our family and home in our golden years. I am including the results of some fun that was produced on one of the FaceBook games, which seems to sum up my thoughts. In summary, I have been blessed with lots, especially my wife Paulina and son John. These 2 special people have been not only my closest family, but also my best friends. Hopefully, the thoughts here would be their feelings if and when I'm gone.
While there may have been a few minor chances that I passed up, I am truly happy with my life's journey.

The Bucket List, and 2016
2016 has been one of my best years, ever. It's already filled with lots of fun and memories.
Life has never been better, we've now seen our dreams come true. First, Son John graduated and is now pursuing his dreams. Second, we did our final bucket list item, Alaskan Cruise. Third, we're moving on to our place for the winter .. in the Adirondacks.
I am recovering from heart surgery, and happy to be alive. We finally got to travel to our 2nd home on October 31 thru November 8, 2016. Checkout our Brave New World, as well as the history of River Road on our website.

We thank God for all of our blessings, and enjoy our home times the most. We've been blessed with a large extended set of family and friends. Possible more surgery coming before it's over
Now recuperating from my heart surgery on June 21st, I am even more determined to enjoy all of God's Blessings. Our home and family times now seem to have even more importance. The next step is to determine what if anything to resolve my other health issue. This could require my recovery to last thru September. Meanwhile, taking life as it comes!

Time to eat, again!
Paulina, John, our beloved companion Mr Lucky and I enjoy our home life the most. Our home enables us to lead our daily lives in comfort and style. While we've enjoyed many times with family and friends, it really is our daily live the counts the most.
Many of our family and friends have moved on with life, and we especially enjoy our "home alone" world. Periodically, we have brief times with them, most of our time is spent enjoying our home and community.
Our home and gardens allow us the peace and solitude to enjoy our mansion and guest house, as well as our gardens. I especially enjoy my hobbies, i.e., Cooking, tennis at our Club, music, movie theatre, and photography. While I focus on maintaining a daily journal of our life, Paulina captures lots of our wildlife and surroundings. Together, we and our website, showcase all of our many years together. With age and health issues, we now spend most of our daily time living the "simple life" .. but, in the style that our blessings permit. Today, more than ever, we also enjoy our Club and dining out.

Paulina and I are enjoying our golden years, mostly at home and our summer place, with lots of dining out to simplify our life. Vacation we try to do something different but low energy. However, we are now looking forward to son John's Graduation in May '16. John is getting 2 degrees, i.e. Italian and Chemistry. See some fond memories of his "honors"

We found our forever home and made it be what we wanted. We, together with our beloved companion Mr Lucky, enjoy it all. Now retired, we spend most of our time at home. While we're dining out mostly, it's still fun to prepare some fun cuisines. In addition to our home, we also got us a "summer place" in the Adirondacks.
Now, we focus on only doing what we have the time and energy to do. The main event is enjoying the great outdoors.

The Next Step in our Journey
We've lived and loved our life in Tucson since October '99. But, we still miss our times in NY. So, we bought a place in the Adirondacks in August '15. Our property includes 149 acres on the river with lots of nature to enjoy. Now, 17 years later, we're heading back to it for an extended stay. Click on the link for lots more.
