It's been 1 year since our Status Update, and our life has changed dramatically.  We downsized and have freed up life for our Golden Years.

We bought a "little house on the Prairie" And, we've greatly simplified our daily life.  

John and Seandean will be joining us for some fun out!  We're especially excited to return to some favorites, check out my memories!

We're staying in Tucson for 2021, but we'll be returning to Paulina's Place in 2022!

Paulina and I were married for the 2nd time on December 29, 1983. Although our first attempt didn't go as planned .. the 2nd time around has been wonderful.

​We're still living the dream!

It's still summer, and we're enjoying our life and times. But, now with August here, the holidays aren't far off.

Paulina and I celebrate the day we met in March, and our December Wedding. Checkout some memories from 2019 of our happy times.

Hey, life is still good .. and we're living it!  We spend lots of it in our Outback and living the good life .. simple meals, simple time out and about!

The holidays are a long way from now, but with the Pandemic and our self-isolation all we can do is enjoy our home and memories!

We bought a villa high on a mountain ridge almost 10 years ago, as well as a camp in the Adirondacks 5 years ago. Our goal was to enjoy the peace and solitude of country life.

Now, with the pandemic, we have had to give up travel, dining out and hosting. But, Paulina, Lucky and I are enjoying these simple times.

We spend our time out, and making our meals at home. For something different, we get to hike especially around our neighborhood.

Times are bad, and getting worse!  The Pandemic is again peaking all across the USA. And so, we're in full lockdown and will remain in isolation until there is a vaccine.

​But, we're doing our best to enjoy life at home.

July comes to an end, and I reflect on our life and times with Paulina and Lucky!  Our Golden Years are now spent in quiet reflection and simply trying to stay the course.

Cherish is the word I use to describe all the love I have hiding here inside.

2019 was a year of doing things better! Now, with the New Year fast approaching and Paulina and I hitting 75, we're spending more time looking at life on an introspective basis.

While we continue our love of life, family, nature and photography, we're beginning to spend more time thinking about the past and realizing that we now see life from a different viewpoint.  

Youth was all about building a life for us and our family (education and friends). Then, adulthood  was all about building a career and family. Now, in our Golden Years, we're spending most of our time enjoying the fruit of our labor.

Over the past 10 years, we were focused on our homes in Tucson and the Adirondacks.  Now, we and our companion Mr Lucky are simply into maintaining our lifestyle and enjoying it while we can.

We've simplified our daily routine, spending lots more time outdoors and enjoying simple meals, our grounds, pool/spa and TV.

I've taken over the landscaping maintenance to reduce our expenses and get some exercise. Now, it's back to maintaining the lawn and gardens, watering, blowing leaves and time at the pool.  We're also going "dark", that is we eliminated our landscape lighting.  We'll only be lighting our grounds for holidays, visitors and special events.

​We also eliminated our Irrigation System, which was fraught with repairing ongoing leaks for our 30+ year old system.

Meanwhile, love is in the air!  Son John and Sunnie are getting serious and seeing the world. They're off seeing Sunnie's family and then off to our place in the Adirondacks.  We miss 'em so!

Summer was fun, but we're already looking towards Fall and the Year End Holidays.  After a busy Summer and some extreme hot temps, we’re looking forward to cooler temps and a relaxing weekend with family and friends.

I'm beginning my 4th Quarter and final update for 2019 early. Watch updates from now thru the end of the year.  This will be my final update, since I'm moving to WordPress (Free site, no domain name and free web tools). I've already setup my new website, check it out.

Also, next year's blog will be entitled "Seeing 2020" which will be more of a retrospective and introspective view of our life and times. More about that then!

Watch for more holiday updates thru the end of the year.  Life is good, and we're enjoying our family, home and life.

Besides our home, we enjoy living on 4+ acres high on a mountain top above Tucson.  The views are beautiful, and we really enjoy gardening and seeing all the wildlife that abounds.

​Our home includes a Wildlife Garden below the main house, as well as 2 grassy areas. The photo above is this week's view of our front lawn. The Wildlife also love our grounds.

Summer Living, and BBQ's with family and friends, lasts almost all year long .. owing to our Southwest Desert living.

Sunsets are also very special, at home and about. They also add to the holiday spirit .. all year long!

Spa and Pool times are also great in our Outback, all year long.

The Skyline Country Club is located in our community, and provides a courtesy dinner out every month. We also enjoy dining out with Family and Friends.

Our biggest bbq and pool party, with Family and Friends.  This allows us all to enjoy  fun in the sun, and catch up on Old Times.  2019 was son John's 20th annual Fourth of July Bash.

It’s been a long 3 weeks, Paulina and Da Boys have been working on our Lawn, 12 zone Irrigation & Drip 💧 System and a complete overhaul of our 4+ acres and grounds 🏜🌵🐸🐍🌾🧱🤷‍♂️

Son John has been hosting our annual 4th of July since we arrived in '99.  This is our chance (20th Anniversary) to invite Family and Friends to share our fun in the sun. Besides our BBQ and Pool party, the evening includes the Fireworks display.

Mom's birthday is July 13th, son John and I celebrated Mom's Birthday while on vacation in Cape Cod, MA. Even thou she passed in 1965, I still miss her so.

Paulina and I will be 75 next Spring, and we've now spent 37 years together. And today, we celebrate closing on our beloved home in the Skyline Country Club Estates 8 years ago.  Now, we've had our home listed for sale and look forward to whatever comes next.

We also bought Paulina's Place in the Adirondacks in August 2015, which we'll be returning in August '19.

Early Days, the promise and the fulfillment!

Sister Eve's enjoying 3 weeks with us, as are several of son John's friends.  We enjoyed Memorial Day Weekend, and are now looking forward to son John's 20th 4th of July celebration

Watch for updates over the coming 3 months, we'll be celebrating the 4th of July, celebrating son John's Birthday, and heading to Paulina's Place for a few months.
