We arrived for Memorial Day Weekend. We've already been enjoying time at Schroon River. It's been 2 months, and we've been busy with son John's holiday visit as well as doing lots of work on our camp.
Time has taken it's toll and it's taken lots of effort to cleanup our home and grounds. All the fallen leaves and overgrowth have been cleared from our main grounds, our 2 ponds, main hiking trails and the river front. We've still got lots of work to do in Jasmine's Meadow and the mountain hiking trails. Work will be completed over the coming weeks.
Life has settled into an enjoyable routine. Most of our time is spent at Camp De Lorenzo.
Checkout some photos and videos of our Summer Fun. I'll be using this page to update more exploits as Summer Evolves.
4th of July Holiday Celebration
Life as we've come to know and enjoy. Although very much our home routine now, it was all very enjoyable.
The Ground Game
Doing a walkabout and enjoying our progress in completing all the cleanup and projects. Work continues, mainly now on Jasmine's Meadow and the Mountain Hiking Trails.
The show includes seeing the progress of our camp, as well as the walking trails and water that surrounds us.
Dinner at the Farm
Visiting friends and enjoying seeing the farm, crops and animals. Beautiful summer evening with friends. Flo and Todd really live a very sustainable life in that they grow most of the veggies and raise the livestock. During the summer months they spend time working the farm, and afterwards spend time canning and freezing food for the year. The farm is a wonderful setting and scene of a fast disappearing way of life. We especially enjoyed seeing 3 goats (liberty, freedom and justice) were only born this 4th of July.
Exploring, Enhancing, And Enjoying Our Surroundigs
Sign of the Times

We were very happy to find our Summer Place in the Adirondacks. We wanted a large, wooded property on the river so that we could enjoy the cool summers and our community. Now, on our 3rd visit, we're delighted. Our hope is to continue to enjoy nature and to explore it all.
Until now, we've been focused on our home and the immediate surroundings. This included lots of repairs, new facilities, a new road and doing some landscaping around the main camp. Now, we're ready for the Main Event. We especially love the river, ponds, streams and hiking trails. My next main goal is to clean up the overgrowth surrounding some favorite spots, such as the stream shown in the live video below.
Now with the accomplishment of our immediate interests, we've begun to hike our property with a view towards finding and sprucing up some of the water, mountain and walking areas.
Lots of time remains during July through October for us to explore, identify and enhance our grounds and favorite hiking places. We'll be using all the time between now (July) and our return in November to continue our landscaping and BBQ's.
I will be adding lots more sights of our new endeavors.
Sunday Morning and Sunshine
Country Living at it's best
Enjoying morning coffee together wth family. Paulina, Lucky and I enjoying relaxing and our county life.
Work and Play
Much of our days are spent out enjoying our property, both work and leisure. Da Boys are doing the heavy lifting, while I'm doing light clearing and cleanup. The purpose of my work is to explore the hiking trails and "make pretty" for us and our visitors. Each time I'm out I do a "clip here and a move there" .. lots of fallen limbs and overgrowth that block the trails.
Schroon River and Point Lookout
Celebrating our life and times
Camp De Lorenzo includes 149 acres of timber and woodlands, with lots of hiking trails through the meadows, ponds, mountains and steams. The pride and joy of our park-like setting is our 4+ acres right on Schroon River. The river area includes a beach as well as lots of easy, fun walking areas with beautiful views.
Fun down at the river, see the photos included in my slideshow for some very pretty sights.
Dining Out On The River
Taking a break from our work and daily routine, we enjoyed dinner out and a romantic evening in town. 😍 We enjoyed our dinner and some fun chatting with some of the other locals. 🥃 The restaurant is just across from The Grist Mill, which was our last outing. Our town is filled with lots of old world charm, and just up the road from our camp (7 miles). These restaurants are like many others located right on Schroon River and include some beautiful views.
