We enjoyed viewing some properties, before we decided on River Road, see some fun memories of our search. We consider this our next and final big adventure. Reminisce and dream with us, eh.
We enjoyed our stay at Friends Lake Inn, heading back here for some romantic meals and memories.
We're may be building our dream lodge on Schroon River Road. Our plans are now in progress, it's time to sit and enjoy Labor Day Weekend and Mr Lucky's 9th birthday. Then, it time for the holidays and New Year. Our home and commercial real estate tentatively will be back on the market shortly, and our work atSchroon Riverdone. Our beloved home will be listed this by October 1st .Paulina Cortes-De Lorenzo, son John E De Lorenzo and I have completed our business plans and will be funding it all shortly, i.e. more investments.
Then, pending my health issues, we will be back at Schroon River to begin our adventures and MY dreams. Good Lord willing, and our creek don't rise (lol), we'll be building our new 3600 sq ft home and expanding our stream and pond on top of the property. We are really looking forward to cleaning up our Central Park like property and living the good life.
Son John E De Lorenzo will complete his education and begin his new business by June as well. John will also continue to manage all of our Tucson real estate and investments when we're off to the farm.
Linda Baker Marcella will be listing both houses immediately, when our current work has been completed. We deeply appreciate Linda's help and support throughout it all heart emoticon
Water Water Everywhere
The river, spring and ponds run thru and around our property
Warrensberg, NY
We bought it, and will be heading back .. fond memories!
Dreaming of Peace and Serenity
One more piece of Warrensburgh history, the shirt factory on River Street .... A bit of history about our little town
The property sits on 149 acres, with 4 acres on the Shroon River. It also includes a spring and several ponds that meander over the land and hills. It is approximately 1/5 the size of Central Park.
Paulina Cortes-De Lorenzo is now busy with our farm, both completing the repairs and cleanup, as well as discussing use of rentals for our 2 homes at the farm with Linda Baker Marcella. Cheryl Hayes and her sons will be helping with the cleanup and new road to the top. We're hoping to just enjoy what we bought, and a simple life.
Building The Dream
Phase 1: Acquisition Completed. Paulina and her merry band of Realtors and Contractors are now completing the repairs, upgrades and preliminary landscaping for the stream and pond cleanup and site for our swim pond and building the road to the top. In addition, both of the existing homes will be rented by Adirondack Realty. Paulina is now discussing both the rental listings as well as Property Management with the locals.
Phase 2: Summer Stay is tentatively scheduled to be begin by June 2016 and in time for us to consider a site for our a possible home and swim pond. Since there is a considerable lead time as well as construction time, our target is for May '17. In the meantime we will be "snowbirds" for the sweet summers in the Adirondacks. We're excited for it all to begin.
Phase 3: We also plan to consider logging as well as farming. Our farm has, like most places in the Adirondacks, been a logging site and source of income. Hopefully, we will use the income from clearing our new home site to setup some new gardens and a small farm. Paulina will consider all of her options, when we arrive in June '16. The idea of a farm is a dream, but frankly we really don't want any more work or projects.
Meanwhile, we'll be enjoying the good life and seeing the sights. Hoping to visit the Sagamore, an old favorite of Dad!
