The De Lorenzo and Cortes families have their early origins in Spain. We, the De Lorenzo Family, migrated from Spain to Italy in 1522, and then again to the USA in about 1900.
Like most Italian families, the family included both blood and an extended group of friends and business associates.

Real Estate and Family, It's in Our Blood
Our Extended Family
My Great Grandfather, John, began our real estate journey. His eldest son was, like most Italian families, responsible to carry on the responsibility for the Family. At that point, the real estate went on to him and his immediate family, not mine. Later, his son and my grandfather, began his part of the real estate legacy. However, it was really my uncle and dad that began our "Chapter 2". The De Lorenzo Boys began with Ridge Plumbing to put bread on the table for the family, and it succeeded beyond anyone's dreams. The family real estate included upgrading and moving to multi-family and commercial real estate ventures.
I began my part in the story with the acquisition, development, and management of our property at 51-53 Irving Place. I would go on to my corporate career, meet and marry Paulina, and return to the family real estate while totally immersed in our own adventures. The Irving Place property would return to my Uncle, and subsequently to his Sister, Joya, and upon her death to my cousin John Rumpel. John would expand his holdings to include an apartment complex in Florida, which he converted to an Assisted Living complex. Today, the Gramercy Park property is for sale.
My cousin's real estate investment property in FL, it's an assisted living dream come true in 2013. John will be 68 on August 13th, and is now living at Victoria Landing. Glad to see it all thriving.
Dad passed on May 20th, 2010 ... RIP My nephew, Rod, remains in our family home in NYC enjoying life, got married last August, and is busy with the family Accounting business. I miss him lots ;)
Son John inherits our family home in Forest Hills Gardens, followed by my daughters Victoria and Nicole. View photos of our beautiful home and Mausoleum in NY.
My Real Estate Endeavors
I began my part in the story with the acquisition, development, and management of our property at 51-53 Irving Place. I would go on to my corporate career, meet and marry Paulina, and return to the family real estate while totally immersed in our own adventures. During my corporate life, I would manage the De Lorenzo Family Real Estate during the Gramercy Park adventure, and later dad's personal holdings in NYC. Paulina and I managed, owned and sold our "Laundercoin" and Dad sold out in '96, and we made our move to Tucson in '99
Dad's home is still in our family, with my nephew living in our home, with the Forest Hills Property being left to son John immediately, and later to my daughters Victoria and Nicole subsequent to John. My nephew, Rod, remains in our family home in NYC enjoying life, got married last August, and is busy with the family Accounting business. I miss him lots wink emoticon
