My roots go back to Ridgewood, NY. I was born in Brooklyn, and moved (when I was about 1 or 2) to Ridgewood which is in Queens.
Even after all these many years, my memories and affection still drift to "That Old Gang of Mine".
We lived on Palmetto Street. Checkout my FaceBook Album for some photos. I lived until there until June '58 and moved on with my life.
Our time was akin to "Spanky and Our Gang". We shared so much and really bonded as a band of friends. One of the kids, who like me, remembers the days back when. I'm including an article that was published by Jim ... one of the boys that best describes life back then.

That Old Gang of Mine ...
So many fond memories from back then. The Palmetto Street gang included Robert and Don Nelson, Tom and Danny Conlisk, as well as Bob Witte (all still FaceBook friends today). Gone but not forgotten ... Richie, Bobby and Eddie! These times were some of my favorite memories, and I miss it all.
Moving on
The next stop was Forest Hills Gardens in Queens, NY. I would remain there until 1967 when I got married and moved on again. This too remains a great memory. Although life changed with the onset of high school and teenage life, I would always cherish my childhood days.
Back in 2005, I would return via train to visit with my Dad. Dad passed in 2010, but I would also cherish life and times during my teen times. Another wonderful time of life. Thanks Dad ... for everything.
Checkout the video below for some bitter sweet times.
Life with Father
Dad was a single parent during my growing up, my grandmother raised me and would always be considered "Mom". I miss her and Dad the most. Share some memories of life back then.
My dad and his brother John would begin as plumbers, and move on to great things ... business and personal. Our good fortune now stems from their time and effort at home and in business. A tradition we try to maintain.
Rock and Roll Will Always Stay
Still friends with lots of the performers from back then
Shortly after moving and starting high school, I began to pursue my interest in Doo Wop and Rock & Roll. My best friend, Jack, was a member of a then popular group "Cathy Jean & The Roomates". Jack helped with my interest and a friendship developed that I cherish even more now.
Click on the menu item "YouTube" on our site for lots more memories of our exploits.
I created a tribute to Jack, The Roomates and our times back when. Both Jack and I have enjoyed being part of that scene for many years. Come see our adventures and life back then.
