Now, being basically retired, Paulina and I have gotten the chance to re-assess our live and interests. First imagine you don't have any commitment to your present lifestyle, and now want to do lots of the fun stuff that there has been little time, effort and money available to do based on your prior circumstances. Get busy with the planning ... without a plan it will always only be a dream.
First think about your resources as well as any real limitations. Income and expense will be with us while we're alive and needing food, clothing and shelter. Consider you and the spouse, not just your needs. Both have to be on the same page .. as best as possible. Get a clear picture of your health, and wellness plans .. diet, exercise and current stress. Factor it all into the plan. Include your most basic interests in the plan. Food, entertainment, family and fun things you need to be happy. In our case, we both enjoy and need family, the great outdoors, weather, food, photography and music to enjoy life. Been working on that diet too. In my case, I still enjoy my Doo Wop buddies and music. I continue to realize new adventures with my special projects, i.e., concerts, home videos and fun times. Odd, it's better now then way back when. Finally, evaluate all the options and alternative lifestyles you both share. Paulina and I have already set our plan to be travel to see some of our dreams as well as to consider our alternate life style. For lots more about where we've been and where we're going next, see our page "Moving On". |
