We're on the Blue Highway, smelling the coffee and really seeing the sights. And, throughout the past 35 years, life has truly been an adventure. We spend almost all of our time with family and enjoy being out and about. Gone are all the yesterdays and even thou we sincerely appreciate what we have, we're excited about tomorrow! Finally, we got our Endless Summer. I'll be posting our goings and doings albeit all variations on a theme. Our next Stop will be another update "Will You Still Love Me, When I'm 64 (Again)? Now, thru November, we'll be doing what we did again, i.e., bbq .. beach .. and fun in the sun.

We've lived a long and winding road, from our NYC days thru our Tucson days since we relocated back in '99. Wow, time flies. Checkout some memories of our times past. Throughout all the years, we lived and loved. Now, as we enter our Golden Years, we've traded the glitz of the bright lights to more family times at home. Dancing still but a lot slower then our early days in '82. Hey, I've enjoyed my life, i.e., The Good Life! Besides my personal interests, I've been involved with computers since they came on the scene. By Jan 1, 1990, I began my own professional endeavors (lasting until our relocation to Tucson in October '99) From that time to this, it's been exclusively the personal computers, i.e. desktop, websites including our own .. The De Lorenzo Family Times. We get about 100,000 unique visitors for our site, and even more interesting ... so many more that visit our YouTube site.
Frankly, I use my FaceBook site as my daily journal of our exploits and adventures and for my interests, i.e.. nature, current events, recipes, etc. I especially enjoy looking back at lots of postings from "this day back when". I enjoy seeing the interests of my family and friends' Facebooking We've also been providing our own home server and client access for our own use, primarily technical support and access to our files (photos, Recipes, extensive collection of my iTunes library, etc). This will include items of general interest, see some links for an ideal of what's coming: Recipes and More Papa John's online examples i.e. Victoria's Restaurant. Jukebox Online. Finally, I'm setting up some access for our family, friends and associates). Watch some of my fun times in the shows. I'm posting an article that identifies Client (User) Applications for reference. You'll need a "client" to reach our server (as we use now) to access our home-based goodies. There are free clients, but we use an App called "Screen" which is discussed in the article. 3 easy ways to share a Mac's screen, great for long-distance tech support If you want to access our server, check 'em out. We're just setting up some groups and privileges for each group, i.e. Cooking, Entertainment, etc. I'll be doing some work to get that ready and I'll post an update when we're open and online. Not much happening, just relaxing and getting some chores done (taxes, medical exams, and lots of the same old, same old). Mostly doing the pool/spa, walking and watching my iTunes shows, and some reading and music. I've got lots and lots of tunes especially on our jukebox. I also enjoy using my iPad by the pool, when I'm out relaxing. We've got a couple of celebrations coming up before we head back to Schroon River, i.e., birthdays and Easter. Hopefully, we'll also be doing lots of family and friends BBQ too. Maybe some Korean BBQ out, a favorite of us and our extended family! We'll be adding lots more of our home and travel times. Checkout the slideshow and video for some fun time. Good news, bad news .. I'm limiting all my personal updates to our Website, i.e. status, photos/shows and albums. I've been sharing lots of our adventures on our other Social Sites, i.e. FaceBook, Twitter, etc. This will greatly limit my work to our site. Our site continues to get lots of viewers, and has all the options of seeing/download our files, etc. In addition I can now limit my FaceBook posts to my general interest, i.e. cooking, nature, etc. Thanks for viewing Remember when we were all young? Well I'm still a young {at heart) 72. I'm setting out to add lots of photos from our Summer of Love, including lots of new photos and lots of oldies by my Doo Wop Buddies. I'm using this series as kind of a biography of my love and music memories. Both my love of the mountains, as well as Doo Wop, began back in the 50's. My best friend, and mentor, was Jack Carslon (original member of Cathy Jean & The Roomates). We shared lots of fun times, including memories of the Catskills back then. The story begins with all that, and will evolve to include my Doo Wop Buddies as it evolved. I will be creating a new series of web pages for our site about our Summertime in the Adirondacks. The series will be titled "Lost in the 50's". Our place on the river brings back many memories of my youth and especially my Doo Wop and the mountains. 🏞😱🎭 Expect lots of photos of our "Green River" as well as family, food and fun 👪🐾🥘💃🏻👙🐸 In accord, I will be using lots of Doo Wop favorites, i.e. George Galfo (Mystics), Dion and the Belmonts, Passions, Jimmy Gallagher & The Passions, Jimmy Beaumont & the Skyliners, the Imaginations, Randy Safuto & the Rainbows, Cathy Jean & the Roomates, Larry Chance & the Earls, as well as Stan Zizka's Del Satins. 🎟 Living the dream, and all the memories along the way. Got some new photos, and I spent some time looking back at my Doo Wop Buddies. So nice enjoying our normal routines, i.e. fun in the sun and memories Always enjoy reminiscing about my good old days and my Doo Wop Buddies .. Check some of my memories out. Watch for my next update, the birthday boy (that's me) hits 72. This will include signs of the times as well as us and the family enjoying my special day (March 5th). Thanks for keeping up with the times
Our road trip takes about 8 days, with 6 days of driving and 2 days for R & R This is a wonderful way to see the USA and get some vacation time away from day to day living! We're happy to be back home in Tucson, but we miss our home on the river in the Adirondacks. Life is getting down to a simplified style, enjoying the great outdoors, bbq and family. While we still get out lots, we prefer home cooking, i.e. chicken, sausages, onions, peppers and all the trimmings. We're also got our old swimming holes in both places albeit a pool in Tucson and the Schroon river in the Adirondacks. Now, we can truly enjoy "Endless Summer" living in Tucson between November and the Adirondacks between May and November. Despite the time, effort and expense we also love the road trips between both homes. In fact, we also have really enjoyed our overnight stays at Holiday Inn with lots of amenities and no effort. Typically, we'll drive about 400 miles a day and check in by 4pm. We'll be dining out less (birthdays and holidays) with family. During our recent 3 months in the Adirondacks son John visited us for the Thanksgiving holiday. Checkout our trip to Warrensburg as well as a favorite show at Flo & Tood's Farm I'm creating an update to include some favorite shows of our road trip and arrival back home in Tucson, AZ. The following show includes some highlights and brevity to include some special memories. The best part of being away is coming home! Our site as well as our YouTube library includes many of our exploits and adventures. Check out a show I used as in introduction. I've been posting to both our site and YouTube library as well as Facebook and some other social sites. Now, I'm using our site only for our news. I'll continue to share some items of more general interest (recipes, humor, pets, etc).
As most know, I even have a separate site (with a link here) for our recipes and cooking adventures. Check it out if you want to try something different. It includes many video tutorials too. In addition, we've done so much on our home, cooking and travels, I want to simplify my postings and limit the volume and scope to only current and brief updates as the occasion arises, i.e., holidays, birthdays, trips, etc. Hopefully, I can limit the frequency of our updates to monthly i.e., March is my birthday, April is Paulina's birthday and Easter follows soon thereafter. Besides having lots of pages to cover general topics, there's a search field to look for any and all items with the term included in the search. Meanwhile, thanks to all of our many online visitors who have kept up with our site and many YouTube slideshows. If you haven't seen our many shows, browse the site. God Bless Us All Listen to a favorite tune by a favorite group while you view the slideshow We left Warrensburg, NY and just got into Tucson .. 10 days on the road. Well, we did stay over in Hot Springs, AS for several days. However, the trip was long and the weather was terrible for the first several days. Seeing how beautiful the weather was when we reached Arkansas, we decided to enjoy it. This was our return trip, having arrived in Warrensburg, NY on November 7th (3 months ago). Since then, winter arrived in a big way. Frankly, it really was time to go home and enjoy Tucson and our beautiful weather for the coming months. See some fun photos and watch 2 shows, part 1 includes our trip up to Hot Springs and part 2 includes the remainder of the trip. Most of the photos include the drive, but we managed to include some fun times out dining and relaxing. Hopefully, you can enjoy our sights without all the hassle of a long ride. |
