We're back doing same old, same old .. and everything old is new again. I'm including some final memories for the year now and thru the holidays. Watch for our upcoming photo parade "Holiday Cheer '17" and "Rocking Around The Christmas Tree". Best wishes for the holiday season and Merry Christmas.
Back now 2 weeks, finally rested and relaxed. Great day outdoors, then dining at our Club’s terrace. This is a Monthly Event. Heading back next month.
Getting back in the groove after being gone to our place in the Adirondacks for most of the past year. Next up, Christmas .. our Wedding Anniversary, and the New Year We’ll be cooking and dining out with Family. 2018, Off To a Good Start
We're only into the first week of the New Year, and our weather's great. As always, we enjoy being outdoors .. nature, pool, and lots of bbq.
Enjoy seeing some of our fun in the sun Mission Accomplished .. This is the end of my series titled "2017, So What's New" In 2015, we bought our Camp in the Adirondacks. But, it really wasn't until 2016 that we got the chance to begin making our dreams happen. We arrived on November 7th and stayed until February .. with a tho goal of getting our Summer Place setup to enjoy. Then, we returned on Memorial Day Weekend .. staying until November 7th. It took time, effort and money to make our Camp be what we wanted. Unlike our home in Tucson, we were focused on making it a very special place. Our goal was to restore and enhance our retro setting into a relaxing Camp and Park where we could truly live the "simple life" and enjoy our time in the Great Outdoors. Life is simple, and we’re simplifying it even more. 🤔 I’m eliminating my many posts and shares but will continue viewing all my feeds.. especially the personal update/photos of family and friends 😊 Realize it’s now more important than ever to take life easier and spend our time and effort “doing the things we love” ❤️
We've finally slowed down and will continue to enjoy our home, Summer Place and Road Trips between Tucson and The Adirondacks. Best Wishes Always 💑🐕🗺🎃 The Adirondacks has been popular since the early 1800's, with many residents and tourists. Although we live in Tucson, we wanted a Summer Place .. We, ourselves, bought a Camp back in August '15. in a little town called Warrensburg, NY .. just 4 miles north of Lake George. Our Camp is located 7 miles out of town and includes 149 acres, with 4+ acres on Schroon River. My website includes lots and lots of photos and videos of our adventures .. Checkout our life in 2 different worlds or browse our site for lots more. Our Status Update blog includes lots or exploits and adventures. Miles To Go Before I SleepWe're now spending our last month in Paulina's Place, enjoying our Summer Place. October is now in progress, and our memories are being updated as the month evolves. Frankly, it's been a wonderful time. Check out our page for lots more. We're leaving Schroon River for 2 weeks vacation and our Family Thanksgiving in Myrtle Beach, SC, we'll be back on the road heading home. I'm sharing our Road Trips and memories also in a separate page, Check out our page for our Road Trip Memories. After our time on the road, we'll be home for the holidays and our Good Life Welcome HomeWe'll have been gone for 10 of 13 months, setting up our Summer Place in the Adirondacks. Slowing Down, But Enjoying our Good LifeAs many know, we've slowed down lots. And, we're enjoying the "simple life" .. with life now more about home living and nature. I've been especially busy taking photos, sharing our memories and setting up for our future. Our website now includes lots of the all the scenes and experiences we've come to enjoy. So, I don't expect to be adding much more. I'll be adding new photos & slideshows to our YouTube site .. for those interested in keeping up with our travels and new adventures. My Status Update blog will include new and different exploits. I'm also now limiting my Facebook postings to mostly our new and unique experiences. Frankly, I enjoy posting to Facebook as a daily journal. However, since we really won't be doing much that's new, this too will be very limited. I'm not really into lots of the general postings now, with many friends and family gone. I also won't have much that's new to post. So, if you're interested in our life and times, checkout our site for new updates. Thanks for sharing our memories. God Bless, best wishes always. Home For SaleOur home has been listed since the end of March, with the projects of selling our home expected to take 1 - 5 years. So, we'll continue to enjoy our home and look forward to whatever comes next. Although we'll continue to enjoy our Summer Place, and living in Tucson, our future plans are uncertain as to where we'll reside. Watch for more information. Be Adding More Memories of 2017I'll be adding more updates here thru the end of the year, Thanks for viewing.
We come to remember yesterday, enjoy today and live for what comes next! Camp De Lorenzo is our Special Place. I created and updated this page during June to include a "snapshot" of our life and times for our summertime. Frankly, not much will change as we are living a layback and simple life. We hope to enjoy lots more of the same life, i.e., hiking, BBQ's, simple outings, etc. So, my next update will include possible Status Updates to include any/all new events, such as further visits by our son John and Anh this Fall. The only events now foreseen will include a visit to NYC for Paulina's Mama's Annual Memorial and then our trip and vacation in Myrtle Beach, SC in November. Some events such as our work on cleaning up the forest and timber trails will be posted in my YouTube library and FaceBook. We're officially "Snow Birds", living in the Adirondacks from May until November when we'll be returning to Tucson, AZ. Our goal is to enjoy the peace and serenity of country with all the amenities of nature. The slideshow includes photos of summer at our place. Our place in the Adirondacks is located on Schroon River and includes a camp with 2 houses and 8 other structures. We use the Main House for our purposes with the 2nd house available for our family visitors. Many years ago, our place was a logging camp. Then, a family setup 2 homes. The parents lived in the main house and their son and his family lived in the 2nd house. The campsite is now about 30 years old, and is a rustic, mid-century dated lifestyle. Both homes are only about 1,500 sq. ft. By comparison to our home in Tucson, the housing is very simple and basic. Our Main House is our preference in that it includes 2 bedrooms and 1 bath plus a den and indoor/outdoor room. While the den includes a pull out bed in a couch, we only use it for our library and family room. The house, decks, and proximity to the river allows us to enjoy the summertime lifestyle. Our Guest House includes 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, with a large outdoor deck off the kitchen. The furnishings are sparse but comfortable. The 2nd house is located just up our road and is closest to our "Jasmine's Meadow". Both homes have nice views of the forest which surrounds us. Besides the streams and ponds, we've got 4+ acres on the river. The property is 1/5 the size of NYC's Central Park. The water and 149 acres of woods offer a relaxing and beautiful setting. We enjoy hiking it all, and seeing the wildlife and scenery. Check out the gallery below for a comprehensive tour of our home and property. We enjoy hiking out and around our property, with stops for the ponds and streams to enjoy nature. The Schroon river is just across the main road. We're especially happy with our river and the shady beach area. Our place on the river allows us swimming, hiking, rafting, fishing and simple relaxation in the shade. This page includes a sample of our life and times at Schroon River. We hope you enjoy sharing our exploits and that you have a great summer too. We do most of our dining at home, with lots of simple meals and BBQ. We, and our guests can enjoy tennis, ping pong, hiking, tv, movies, music and tv. Our music and movie library is available via our wi-fi network. We've added a network drive to allow for us and our visitors to access our film library Besides access to the Internet, we've added Direct TV and our own library of movies, tv shows and lots of music. This provides relaxing rainy days and night time entertainment. I also have many more items in our DVD library too. The Good LifeFamily time is our favorite time. We enjoyed showing son John our home and community. Son John visited with us to celebrate Father's Day, it truly was a beautiful weekend. Checkout our photos and slideshow. Warrensburg, NYHeading into town to shop and pick up John at the bus stop. Fun Around The Home Fires TooDining Out in Lake GeorgeLake George and surroundings is a main tourist area, especially the cruises that include seeing lots of nature .. as well as an opportunity to dine at any of the many fun places. Checkout our cruise and dining at the Lobster Pot in Lake George. Dining on Schroon RiverSchroon River flows across the lower level of our property, and through Warrensburg in town. We enjoyed a wonderful evening at the Grist Mill, which is situated on the river bank. Besides the wonderful setting, the food .. service .. and romantic setting added to our evening. Lake George CruiseWe did a cruise up the 32 mile Lake George over 6 hours Besides simple meals at home, we're enjoying some fun out too. A real favorite of ours, as well as the locals, is a place called George Henry's. Check out some fun photos. Great food, prices and fun. The first set of photos include take out, and the second set is dine in .. It's only 7 miles up our country road and the first spot we hit in town. The Adirondacks, especially our neck of the woods, also has lots of variety of restaurants and fun places to enjoy. There's a wide variety of foods and places to explore. Seeing the Sights in Lake GeorgeLake George is the "Main Attraction" in the Adirondacks. Besides the Lake George Cruise, it is the home of Fort William Henry which dates back to the 1750's. Son John and I did a Boys Day Out and got to spend time enjoying the fort, lunch overlooking the lake and finally some time down at the park and beach. Check out some of my photos and/or the slideshow which includes our adventures. Fort Ticonderoga TooIn addition to Fort William Henry, there's a much bigger fort .. Fort Ticonderoga. It too has lots of history dating back to the mid-1700's. Paulina and son John, like most tourists, enjoyed seeing the sights. Wine And Food FestivalThe Lake George area includes many outdoor events, especially during the summer. Checkout some photos from one such event. At the Wine & Food Festival in Lake George, NY: Distilleries, wineries/vinyards, and breweries abound in Upstate NYS! Toto had a chance to sample some mead, hard cider, vodka, whisky, and beer! (No interest in wines, hehe.). See video of entrance over stream, click for video of entrance to festival, over stream Paulina and Son John enjoyed some fun in Lake George. Events occur often and are aimed at enjoying life. For some live video, click link here. Lucky Lane gets a FaceliftThis year, we're working on the great outdoors. First, a new road to replace the dirt road. Then, we'll be doing lots more in Jasmine's Meadow and the main hiking trails along the mountains streams leading up the mountain. This will improve our trails leading to an upper meadow for picnics and exploring nature. We've been doing work to "beautify" our home on the river. Last year, we focused on doing some repairs and work on the structures. This year, we're mainly focused on upgrading our main road, as well as doing lots of outdoor clean up and timber clearing. Making Memories DailyI'll be adding more photos and videos over our summer of fun.
We can now enjoy "endless summer" having homes in both Tucson and the Adirondacks. Both weather and proximity to nature are top priorities now that we're retired. Our place is located in Warrensburg, NY and is situated with 4+ acres on the Schroon River. This, together with our 149 acres of mountains, streams and ponds, allow Paulina, My Lucky and I to enjoy the great outdoors. This includes lots of wildlife, including the birds whose lovely music adds to the charm of it all. Our property, as well as The Adirondack Park area is protected by the APA and has strict guidelines protecting it all. Our town is located about 4 miles north of Lake George and about 15 miles north of Glen's Falls in upstate NY. We're also only 150 miles south of Quebec, Canada. This part of the country is beautiful and holds lots of history. So many historic sites abound. Besides all the tourist attractions, there's plenty of nice restaurants and shops. We mainly dine at home these days, but enjoy infrequent outings for fun and variety. We'll be enjoying lots of quiet days and nights throughout our stay. Lots of photos of our place as well as Lake George and Glens Falls coming. Hopefully, I'll be adding lots of our daily adventures now thru November when we depart for Tucson. Paulina has been focused on achieving our latest goal of setting up a real home and life in the Adirondacks. Frankly, it's taken us almost 2 years to make it all a reality. It all began with our purchase in August '15. Despite lots of delays due to our divesting ourselves of our larger real estate holdings and my medical issues, we were only able to return last fall. We're excited to return to Schroon River, and to enjoy our place in the sun. Although we spent 3 months between November and February setting up and getting everything in order, we only were able to enjoy a few short weeks outdoors before winter set and the snows began. Our road trips between both homes has also enabled us to see and enjoy much of the USA. Each of our 3 trips provided lots of wonderful insights and views or our beautiful and amazing country. We got to see lots of sights as we crossed the USA, and enjoyed our stops each night. We now plan on 3 weeks each way, that is coming and going. This allows us time to relax and enjoy our cross country trek with some vacation twice a year. In contrast to our beloved home in Tucson, we're living a real "country life". Life will be much more simple and centered around our property with lots of hiking in the mountains that surround us, and lots of time spent on the beaches along our river front and Lake George. Our days will include taking photos of our home and surroundings, as well as doing frequent "coffee breaks" and BBQ's at home. I am also looking forward to spending time at the beaches at Lake George and seeing lots more of our community. Paulina, Lucky and I will be doing lots of new photos over the coming 7 months. Our new series begins with Memorial Day Weekend '17 I'll be setting up a new series of web pages to highlight our exploits and periodic status updates before we head back via our vacation and Thanksgiving in Myrtle Beach, SC with son John and Anh. For lots more about our adventures in Schroon River, check out our "Status Updates" web page.
We've lived life in the "fast lane" for many, many years. Now, it's time for Paulina, Lucky and I to "smell the flowers". Enjoying lots more time listening to our favorite tunes, and making more memories. We've also decided to minimize our cooking and chores, and enjoy more rest and relaxation, i.e., hiking, photography, music, and sight seeing. Meals are now more about light cooking and take-out! We've now got 2 homes, Tucson, AZ and Warrensburg, NY which we plan to enjoy "endless summer". We've also developed a real joy or our road trips in between and seeing the USA. Unlike our times over the past, we're no longer into hosting visitors and a living a lavish lifestyle. Frankly, it simply takes too much time and effort. And, we're at that point in life where our age and health is slowing us down. We do plan to enjoy some special times dining out with family to celebrate special occasions. We're especially looking forward to seeing son John and Anh during some of our exploits. Our passion for nature and enjoying a simple life has also further developed, and we've begun to enjoy it all. Current and future photos will include our sights of the wildlife and scenery we're seeing in our travels. We enjoy staying at places where the lifestyle suits us all, especially Mr Lucky who has also really gotten to enjoying our road trips and hotel stays. Come see some of our memories. We spent 6 days on the road, heading from our home in Tucson to our place on Schroon River. During the early part of our journey, we headed up thru Arizona and New Mexico. The weather was great and the traffic very light. ![]() Beautiful scenery and pretty sunsets as we drove across the USA We enjoyed our stays as well as our journey to Kansas then East to Schroon River |
